Beloved Star Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.

The actor Pat Finn had a key role in the popular TV show The Middle.

US performer Finn, who appeared in popular TV shows such as Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away at the age of 60.

The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in LA on Monday having undergone treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, according to reports.

"He considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones said in a message.

They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".

A Prolific Television Career

Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the titular character's brother.

He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, portraying a social organizer who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.

In the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on several well-known programs, including:

  • The King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.

His work in movies are "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".

A Life in Improv

Away from his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.

He was involved with a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.

Offering condolences, fellow actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote on social media.

The actor is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
