Emma Raducanu in action during a tennis match

Emma Raducanu made it to the third stage in three Grand Slam tournaments major tournaments in the current campaign.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has pulled out of the last two tournaments of the year due to a health issue she has been battling for the last week and a half.

The 22-year-old had planned to participate in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to regain her health before starting her preparations for 2026.

Her upcoming training will include trainer Francisco Roig, as the pair will keep partnering in 2026.

The tennis professional had her blood pressure taken during her first-round match with Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and withdrew when trailing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She again required a doctor's assessment at this week's Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.

Her movement was noticeably restricted in the deciding set in the match with Zhu owing to the lower back problem that has been a concern during parts of the season.

Those results followed a positive campaign, in which the player advanced into the world's top 30 after more than three years since her previous ranking, ended with three successive defeats.

She held three match points then was defeated by American player Jessica Pegula in the third stage in last month's Beijing event.

Raducanu won 28 victories this year and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at March's Miami Open.

Ranked first in Britain reached the quarter-finals of this WTA 1000 tournament, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed during the tournament before losing in a three-set match to the world number four Pegula.

She worked with Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig taking over ahead of the US Open.

The first plan with Rafael Nadal's former coach was for the remainder of the year but the partnership will continue, with planned training sessions late this year.

Raducanu told that a three-day test period with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She came very close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at the first competition with Roig in August's Cincinnati tournament.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round before being beaten by 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
