President Trump Calls Loved Ones of Attacked National Guard Soldiers to the White House

President Trump stated on Sunday that he has asked the family of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to come to the executive mansion.

He noted that he contacted her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

Details on the Tragic Event

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a attack on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in serious condition.

Gatherings across the state have occurred in their memory.

Presidential Call

The president explained he’s discussed a White House visit for the families of both members of the state Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, arrive at the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” Trump told the press. “And similarly with Andrew, recover or not.”

Public Support

Mourners gathered over the weekend at the high school in the state to honor Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been serving with the military unit as part of the president’s national effort to assist public safety in DC.

Remembering Sarah Beckstrom

“Sarah was the type of pupil that instructors wished for. She behaved with inner fortitude, a warm expression and a upbeat demeanor that lifted people around her,” the principal, the head of her previous school, stated to the Associated Press. “She was kind, caring and always willing to support those in need.”

Service arrangements for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Legal Steps and Government Revisions

Authorities have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with a charge of murder and charges of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy led the administration to halt refugee claims and temporarily stop granting visas to holders of travel documents.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

The airman, a native of the city, enlisted in February 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, as reported by the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia governor the governor stated on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

The state’s top lawyer the attorney general stated on a news show that she planned to speak to his relatives.

Legacy of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County High in mid-2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a law enforcement officer with honor, according to the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she absolutely had bravery,” he addressed the audience at the memorial. “Though her time ended too soon, she has created a legacy that’s going to last forever.”
