Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the global hiatus, but will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against AI, fans and a variety of guests.

For the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' latest album, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit game the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "My team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have two children, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend football team," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our team for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their offense is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be quite tight, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

This smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' only away victory this campaign came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.

So, what exactly do I predict here - will it be the Hammers continuing their run under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four games.

My son advised me to select Brentford striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much success on the road this season, and the Seagulls are always strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the break but I feel the home manager's side carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it actually turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six games.

They have have lots of quality in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

Their display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to back the visitors here, because they are clearly able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not going to do that. Instead, I truly need to carry on going against the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's home record, the sole team they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely eager for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but they have nonetheless been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but could they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
