Much like Storm Claudia tore through the north-west the previous evening, the home side swept the visitors away at the Etihad Stadium. It was a convincing three-nil victory for Andrée Jeglertz’s side thanks to goals from Knaak, Shaw and Hemp. It was a result that truly announced their title credentials as they strengthened their place at the league summit.
