The British government is prepared to move forward with using the entire amount of frozen Russia's holdings to aid Ukraine's war effort, PM Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a collective announcement, the heads of state of the UK, the French Republic, and Germany stated that this unified step would escalate tension on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and urge Moscow to participate in talks.

They clarified that the move would be carried out in tight collaboration with the America.

British sanctions have frozen in excess of £25bn of Russia's resources since Russia began its comprehensive attack against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. However, up to this point, funds sent to the Ukrainian government using Russia's holdings had only been sourced from earnings and returns accrued on them.

Sir Keir assured President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their goal to advance efforts toward employing the total worth of the frozen Moscow's national funds to conclude the conflict.

He added that further measures over the next period would increase the strain on Moscow.

This statement comes after EU representatives met in Copenhagen previously to discuss using frozen Russia's holdings for a €140bn loan to the Ukrainian nation.

In the previous month, President Donald Trump called on Group of Seven partners to confiscate or employ immobilized Russian assets, according to news outlets.

The total of immobilized Russia's holdings in the European Union is calculated to be approximately €211bn.

"All penalty impositions diminishes Moscow's military apparatus," Zelensky noted, in a separate post.

Additionally that day, Zelensky stated to media outlets he would urge Sir Keir to join the weapons procurement program, under which partner nations purchase weapons from the America to donate to Ukraine.

While praising the United Kingdom's consistent assistance for the Ukrainian government, he remarked it should indicate firmly that it would participate in the initiative, as well as enforce further measures on Russia.
